KVFC fire truck lands movie role... April 25, 2003 was the Hollywood premiere of "It Runs in the Family" with Kirk Douglas, Bernadette Peters and Michael Douglas. The stars and film crew were on location in Kinnelon in May of 2002, and KVFC's Engine 11 and Satellite 35 were recruited to take part in the movie shoot at Camp Aheka, disguised as units of a Connecticut VFD. A number of our volunteer firefighters spent a lot of time assisting with the production. Now that the DVD is on the market, we can visually report on the extent of the "bit part" acted by our fire trucks: can seen going in the opposite direction, at night, on Brook Valley Road, with lights and siren. ![]() The white blob is our fire truck.
